The fun award season is upon us. First off there were the TCA and now the most iconic music awards of the year: the MTV Video Music Awards. They are distinguished by the random moments and crazy events that have marked the history of the ceremony. Everyone always expects the unexpected and as anticipated they delivered, from wardrobe malfunction to a little bit of twerking. And let’s not forget the amazing fashion statements.
I absolutely loved how someway the looks took us back to the 90’s. First off upcoming artist Charli XCX performed during the red carpet with a feather cover up that just screamed Cher Horowitz. Following was Katy Perry who honored Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s 2001 all denim ensemble. The difference? This time Katy left it to Versace to design the custom made gown. To finalize the “throwback-fashion” Mrs. Amber Rose dared channel Rose McGowan 1999 look from Laura Dewitt that left very little to the imagination. Is it me or are we going back to the Clueless years? Yes please!
On the other hand, profuse stars choose classic all black looks. Some of these included Miley Cyrus, Kendall Jenner, Becky G and the cast of Orange Is The New Black. All of them looked stunning in the infinite color. Going the other way Rita Ora decided to go all red in a Jessica Rabbit gown that made her look voluptuous and sensual.
By now you may be guessing why the article is titled All hail the Queen right? Well personally there was one look that stole the show. It was so astonishing that it deserved a special tribute. The fit, the color, the fabric it was just perfection. It was non-other than Jennifer Lopez who wore a silver jaw-dropping Charbel Zoe dress. She was officially the queen of the red carpet. The cutout shimmering gown was simply spectacular. Now the real question is what was Casper Smart (also present at the VMA’s) thinking the whole night?
Last night the annual Teen Choice Awards took place in sunny California. This is one of my favorite award shows just because of the fun ensembles that the starlets wear. Obviously other high end awards like the Oscars and Emmy’s are great but too serious. Furthermore, the TCA let’s everyone dress up playfully, which makes the outfits more attainable for us the fans to wear. It includes all the young celebrities that are constantly fighting off each other (figuratively) to be the best dressed of the week on and off big Hollywood events.
To honor the last days of summer most starts wore crop tops which were the hit of the night. My favorites which include Chloe Moretz and Taylor Swift rocked the look in a way that will make you want to buy they’re outfits right away. I mean who doesn’t want to look like Tay-Tay during next Sunday fabulous brunch? Moreover, messy side braids were hitting it big on the red carpet. The hairdo made them look effortlessly flawless and complimented perfectly the whole look. The outfits seen on them looked like they all previously agreed to wear the same trend as a statement.
There were two outfits that just made me go oh-la-la and gag for more. Both of them were matching crop tops and pants (duh!). First runner up is Ms. Moretz with a stunning matching ensemble from Valentino. The red, black and white printed outfit is just breathtaking aside from the perfection that this girl is. She looked impeccable and topped it off with a red single sole sandal that will make you fall in love. Then there’s Vampire Diaries Nina Dobrev who’s been giving the fashion industry lots to talk about with her sense of fashion. With a Vionnet matching outfit that went just perfectly with the pink pumps she wore giving the ensemble that extra girly twist.
I guess we all feel like we should work on our abs and go shopping for some crop tops and shorts don’t you think?
Every woman has special occasions throughout her lifetime that open or in some cases close certain chapters. One must enter or exit every situation with the outmost luxuriousness. It all starts with the commencement of interest in the way we look and the way we portray ourselves to the world. But there’s just two special occasions that came to my mind where I wanted to look flawless. My wedding day and of course PROM! I mean who isn’t excited for prom? Prom is the biggest event of your school years that you get to go all out. There’s the music, the date and of course the outfit which is the most important of all.
First, you need to pick up the dress that of course has to be one that will make heads turn. But then the real difficulty comes your way: finding the perfect pair shoes to match. This can be tricky since everyone is on the hunt. When you think you found “the one”, that pair that you can’t go to prom without , there comes the sales associate to tell you some other girl just bought the last size 7 they had in stock. Just like that your dreams are stolen and the perfect night has become the worst nightmare.
It may take time but with a little help the perfect prom outfit can be unraveled. I love looking at all the girls and how they put together the cutest of ensembles for that special night. Here are some options you can pick for that unforgettable moment. Remember this is a once in a lifetime shot you have to impress your peers so make it count and leave them breathless.
Winter is coming to an end and we cannot wait for the summer but before it gets here we have a whole season in between to welcome: SPRING! Time to store all those dark hues and long sleeves. When we come to think of it spring brings us comfort in our wardrobe. We feel free and liberated to show some skin and get rid of the boots. But don’t worry we already have the perfect trend figured out for you to rock this new season.
Very few times a tendency is so strong that it translates to women and men as a whole. A shoe can either make or break an outfit. We tend to think that the fancier the shoe the fashionable the outfit. Let me tell you this is a complete myth. You can totally wear comfy, trendy shoes and at times look even better than when you have high sky stilettos on.
Canvas is a must when you think about the resort/spring season. Now it makes it’s way to your feet. Canvas shoes have been ‘in’ for a while now with known brands stating how simple a shoe can be and the impact it can still make. They go with anything for anywhere. You won’t want to take them off.
Now are you ready to look trendy and feel good about it? We give you a couple of looks so you know how to carry this trend correctly. If you don’t wear it believe me everyone else will be doing so.
